Design, develop, and test new electronics products unit. Manage new products through the new product development process and resolve field & production issues with existing products.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
This job does not have direct reports (no supervision of staff required).
Interfaces with Product Management, Supply Chain and Quality Departments.
Essential Functions:
- Design and test electronic circuits for new products and revisions of existing products
- Supervise board layouts and manage Bill of Materials
- Find and approve alternate components
- Manage and support product qualification testing
- Create detailed documentation for new products
- Develop test fixturing and procedures for manufacturing testing
- Manage product compliance testing at external laboratories and analyze results
- Provide general Engineering support to other departments
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience with electronics lab test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.)
- Proven track record of electronics design & development
- Ability to solder & rework SMD components under a microscope
- Basic knowledge of embedded programming in C / C++
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Quick learner and able to balance multiple tasks
- Strong experience with PCB CAD tools (Candence Allegro & OrCAD preferred)
- Experience with UL 60730 family of standards a plus
- Understanding of principles of refrigeration a plus
